Larry Nemecek “Dr. Trek” returns to talk some Star Trek with Aaron and David. About five weeks ago Larry started his new Star Trek Podcast the Trek Files and he gives us the low down on his new show. We discuss the current state of Star Trek and we get Larry’s take on the current hot topic Star Trek Discovery.

Larry worked on Star Trek Continues and we ask him about the two part finale and his involvement towards the end of Star Trek Continues. Before we let Larry go David asks for an update on the Con of Wrath Documentary. We had a fantastic time having Larry on the show and we hope you enjoy your weekly shot of Star Trek!

This week we welcome Kipleigh Brown, Lisa Hansell, and James Kerwin to discus the Star Trek Continues Series finale To Boldly Go and the upcoming short film When the Train Stops! We had a great time talking with our guests about the passion and attention to detail that makes Star Trek Continues come alive, and how emotionally charged the series finale was.

Last time James and Kipleigh joined us on the show they teased an upcoming project called When the Train Stops today we get to hear Lisa expand a bit on the project. We learn who the principal actors will be and that the film will have a twilight zone like feel to it. The conversation with James, Kipliegh and Lisa was fantastically fun and we hope you all enjoy your weekly shot of Star Trek!

Synthaholics Episode 138: Star Trek Discovery Lethe

Aaron and David are back to discuss Star Trek Discovery Episode 6 “Lethe”. This week was heavy on character building and it was a nice change of pace compared to the last several episodes. Lethe was such a fascinating ride where we learn more about Michael, Lorca, Ash, and Sarek. Lethe didn’t seem to do a whole lot of advancing the overall story this week but it was for sure setting up the chess board. We can’t wait to see what all this leads to in the upcoming episodes! So far the end of each episode this season always leaves us wanting more, this episode is no exception. With only have three more episodes before the show goes on break we wonder how they will keep upping the ante. We hope you enjoy your weekly shot of Star Trek.

This week on Synthaholics guests Kipleigh Brown and James Kerwin return to talk Star Trek Continues. James Kerin directed and wrote the teleplay for the recent Star Trek Continues episode “Embracing the Winds”. Kipleigh Brown plays Smith on Star Trek Continues and she wrote the teleplay for the most recent episode “What Ships Are For”. We found out the cast and crew recently had screenings of “What Ships Are For” at ILM and and Pixar so we got to hear about that. Writing becomes a major topic of the episode and this gets us sidetracked into discussing recent science fiction film! It was an absolute pleasure having Kipleigh and James join us this week, so we hope you enjoy this extra special shot of Star Trek!

In addition to the celebrities, we were also able to speak with artists and con goers who were attending the convention to ask their thoughts about the Star Trek Discovery trailer that just aired last week.  We got to hear from a variety of people ranging from non fans of Star Trek all the way up to people in full on Star Trek cosplay.
